The king of the east is what the city of Nairobi should be called. It’s the perfect juxtaposition of city life and the best of African wildlife. It’s truly magical.

The City
Popularly referred to as the safari capital of Africa, Nairobi is ironically the economic capital of east Africa. Only just recently being referred to as a city in 1954, it was opened up to civilization in the 18th century by railways built by slaves of colonial masters.
Nairobi is home to so much of Kenya’s culture, history and heritage. With about 16 museums within and outside the city, you get the sense that the people of Nairobi are very proud of their heritage. The native language is Swahili but English can be referred to as the lingua franca.
